How Much my Home is Worth? The place where you can trust our experience and expertise to get the answers you need. How much is my home worth?
A seller asked me recently, “Is this still a good time to sell?” She’s thinking about selling here and buying out of state. My answer was yes, and California’s 2027 housing forecast supports it.
The seasons are less rigid now. Many sellers assume spring is the only time to list. In a desirable area like Paso Robles, there are always buyers looking for their next home. Right now, many of them have been waiting to see what the market does next. They’re still buyers. They’re ready, and they have fewer homes to choose from. They just don’t know your home is an option yet.
More buyers are coming back. The California Association of REALTORS® forecasts existing single-family home sales will rise 3.7% in 2027, to about 277,900 homes. C.A.R. expects more people who have been on the sidelines to make their move.
Prices are holding. The statewide median price is forecast to rise 1.4% to $894,400 in 2027. A continued shortage of homes for sale keeps supporting prices, but the pace is slow. Waiting isn’t expected to add much to your sale price.
More listings are coming. Many owners have stayed put to keep their low mortgage rate. C.A.R. still expects inventory to loosen in 2027. Spring brings its usual wave of new listings too. Today, you face less competition, and your home stands out to buyers who are ready now.
It’s a win-win if you’re buying next. For my seller, selling now also opens up the perfect timing to search for her next home in the area she wants. In many markets, fall brings more choices and less competition for buyers too. The result: we’re listing her home this month, and she’s starting her house hunt now, on her own timeline instead of the spring rush.
Now or later, make it a plan. You can sell now or later. But right now there are ready buyers and fewer homes for them. Forecasts are statewide, so the next step is looking at your neighborhood and your home.
